This is one of those pictures, that is actually in full colour!
The rock is at the south end of Sandwood Bay and neither are accessible by vehicle. The day we were there was particularly hot, and if you look to the horizon, you will can see the heat haze, which later caused a temperature inversion creating both a sundog (Parahelia) and a M-Mir Sunset (or mock mirage sunset).
The rock - Am Buachaille (translates to 'The Herdsman') made a great focal point for photos during the course of the evening. We walked there in the late afternoon carrying our evening meal and stove, and came back late in the evening when the heat of the day had subsided.
